E-filing your income tax with easy steps
To e-filing your income tax return you must require to register on the Income Tax Department’s online tax filing site.
1. Register on Income Tax department
To e-file your income tax, you must have to register on the Income Tax Department’s website ( E- file income tax). You have to provide your PAN CARD number, name and date of birth and choose a pass. Your pan card number is your user id.
2. Choose how you want to e file your income tax
For e-file income TAX, there are 2 ways of e-filing income tax.
1. Go to download section and select the required form and save it on your pc and fill all the details offline and upload file it back on the site.

3. Select require form
ITR-1: For individuals earning a salary, pension, income from property ( Source except for lottery),
ITR-2: For those who earning capital gains. ITR2A is required for those who owe more than one house but no capital gain. Also include income from foreign income, agricultural income less than 5000, as a partner in a firm
ITR-3, 4 and 4S: Everything from ITR-2 and business/ profession
4. Require the documents when applying
Keep you PAN CARD, Form 16, TDS certificates, interest statements, detail of investments, bank passbook, insurance and home loans handy. Download 26AS, which summarises tax paid against your PAN.
5. Fill the form and upload documents
If you want to apply offline after you download the form and fill all the detail. After filling all detail, click on ‘Generate XML’. Then go back to the website again and click on the ‘upload XML button.
6. Verification of ITR V
After submitting your ITR form, an acknowledgment number is generated. There are two steps to verify ITR. First, you can return using a digital signature, you just have to save this acknowledge number. Second, you can submit your ITR detail without digital signature, an ITR-V is generated and is sent to your registered email ID.
